The South Florida Derby between Miami United and Boca Raton FC will be renewed on at 8pm Sunday July 9, 2017. The venue is Tropical Park Stadium. The two clubs will meet for the fifth time since April 30, this time in the APSL Quarterfinals. Each of the previous four meetings in APSL, NPSL and US Open Cup have been decided by a single goal.
Boca Raton FC have won four successive APSL titles. Miami United defeated Boca Raton 1-0 in the last meeting on June 24 in the NPSL National Game of the Week. A controversial red card issued to Boca Raton’s Jason Fitzgerald was ultimately the deciding factor in the match as Daniel Navarro recorded the winning goal for Miami late on against ten man BRFC.
