Boca Raton Football Club and midfielder Lucas Roque have agreed to terms on a deal for the 20115 Fall Season.

The Monarch High School alumni comes to Boca Raton after a stint of successful seasons with the Baltimore Blast of the Major Indoor League.

Roque made his debut with the Blast in the home opener against the Chicago Soul on November of 2012. In his rookie season, Roque scored 14 goals and had 8 assists. Roque was a key player in the Blast’s championship run that year and was named to the 2012-13 All-MISL Rookie Team.

A member of the U.S. National futsal team, Roque moved to the United States in 2001 where he attended Monarch High School where he made a name for himself on the soccer field.

A two-time Sun-Sentinel Player of the Year, Roque led the Knights to three straight district titles and scored 42 goals and had 21 assists in his Senior year.

“Lucas has a great eye for the game,” says head coach Marcelo Castillo. “He’s going to be tremendous for us as we build through this APSL Fall Tournament as we focus on the U.S. Open Cup.”

During his 2013-2014 season with the Baltimore Blast, Roque scored 11 goals and had 12 assists.

“I’m very excited to be playing at Boca Raton FC,” says Roque. “This is a championship organization from the bottom up and I look forward to playing alongside some of the best players in the league.”

Roque will suit up for Boca Raton FC’s matchup versus Miami Fusion this Saturday at Lockhart Stadium. Tickets for the game can still be purchased at www.strikers.com/tickets. Use the promo code SFCC for discounted tickets.
