Over 20 of the biggest news sources from Brazil mentioned Boca Raton FC, including Lance Sport, ESPN, Globo Esporte, Estadão, and Record.

The scrimmage versus São Paulo will mark the first game for Rogerio Ceni as the manager of the team he played for during his illustrious 23-year career (all with São Paulo).

“We are happy to be able to make history once again,” said Boca Raton FC president, Douglas Heizer. “We want to continue to look for these marquee preseason tuneups to prepares our players versus high-level competition as we prepare for the 2017 NPSL Season.”

São Paulo is one of the most successful teams from Brazil, with 12 international titles. It is also one of the most successful South American clubs in terms of overall titles, having won 21 state titles, six Brasileirão titles, three Copa Libertadores titles, one Copa Sudamericana, one Supercopa Libertadores, one Copa CONMEBOL, one Copa Masters CONMEBOL, two Recopa Sudamericanas, two Intercontinental Cups and one FIFA Club World Cup, which current Boca Raton FC player/ambassador Amoroso played a critical part in.

The scrimmage versus São Paulo will be two halves of 45 minutes, with unlimited substitutions, as it will be the first game for both clubs after the holiday break.

São Paulo will be the third team with an international pedigree that Boca Raton FC has played in its short existence. Last January Boca Raton FC hosted Ukrainian powerhouse Shakhtar Donetsk in Boca Raton, and the legendary New York Cosmos later in March.
