Boca Raton, FL – Boca Raton Football Club is proud to announce that they club will scrimmage versus Brazilian Powerhouse, São Paulo at IMG Academy as the Brazilian club prepares for their participation in the 2017 Florida Cup.

Boca Raton FC will travel to Orlando to face the 2005 FIFA Club World Cup Champions on January 15.

Boca Raton FC player/ambassador, Marcio Amoroso was a key member of the São Paulo team that defeated Liverpool 1-0 in 2005 to hoist the Club World Cup trophy.

“We are very excited for this friendly versus such a huge team,” said Boca Raton FC president, Douglas Heizer. “This is a great pre-season game for our club as we prepare for the 2017 NPSL Season, and it would not have been able to come to fruition if it wasn’t for Amoroso, who represents the club in Brazil. Our partnership is working well not only on the pitch but off it as well.”

São Paulo is one of the only four clubs to have never been relegated from Brazil’s first division, along with Santos, Flamengo, and Cruzeiro.

São Paulo is the most successful team from Brazil, with 12 international titles. It is also one of the most successful South American clubs in terms of overall titles, having won 21 state titles, six Brasileirão titles, three Copa Libertadores titles, one Copa Sudamericana, one Supercopa Libertadores, one Copa CONMEBOL, one Copa Masters CONMEBOL, two Recopa Sudamericanas, two Intercontinental Cups and one FIFA Club World Cup.
