On Saturday, Boca Raton FC head to Miami Gardens to take on Miami FC in the final NPSL game of the season. As the Boys in Blue look to end the season with a win, our player to watch is Alec McKinley.
Since joining Boca Raton FC, the central midfielder has been an important player for the Boys in Blue, starting all four games and playing a total of 240 minutes. McKinley has scored one goal in the NPSL, opening the scoring in a 4-1 away defeat to Palm Beach United. “I have learned a lot since I began playing for Boca Raton,” says McKinley. “I feel that being here has helped me to stay on a good path as I continue my career. I have some lifelong friends within the team, so of course, it is great to be able to play with them.”
McKinley played in the Portland Timbers’ academy prior to joining Boca Raton. The right-footed midfielder spent two years in the MLS club’s youth ranks and believes it was a valuable experience: “My time in Portland was amazing. I learned a great deal about what it takes to play at the next level.”
After falling 3-1 to Palm Beach United in the final home game of the NPSL season, the Boys in Blue are eager to finish the season strongly against Miami FC. Come out to Saint Thomas University to support Boca Raton FC on Saturday! For those unable to attend, the game will be broadcasted live on Boca Chamber Radio. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
