Boca Raton FC advanced to the NPSL Semifinals with a 2-1 victory Sunday night at Tropical Park over Miami United. Shadi Harb and Junior Prevalus recorded goals for Boca Raton. Miami United opened the scoring in the 16th minute but from that point forward Boca Raton dominated proceedings. In minute 21 Harb put a free kick just wide of the far post and in the 24th minute Lewis Thompson was a second late  with connecting on an in-swinger. BRFC continued to pile on pressure until Harb equalized the match in Minute 36. In minute 43 Prevalus beat the Miami United back line but pushed his shot from a tight angle just wide of the far post. In first half stoppage time Prevalus again broke through but pushed his shot wide.

The second half started with Boca Raton on the front foot. Prevalus gave BRFC the lead in minute 54 with a clean finish after a great combination attacking move by Gustavo Bergman and Christopher Perreira. Boca Raton continued to control the action and in minute 65 a Miami United player committed a cynical foul on Prevalus which led to a sending off. Harb had a chance to seal the game for BRFC but missed a one on one chance in minute 74. Two minutes later, Miami was reduced to nine men after Bergman was fouled recklessly.

Boca Raton endured some late drama as Leo Tavares had to make a diving fingertip save on a Miami United free kick in second half stoppage time. But BRFC ran out deserved winners in a match they dominated after the 20th minute.

BRFC will face Miami Dade FC in the APSL Semifinals next Sunday at 8 pm ET.  The two teams drew a previous meeting this season 1-1 on June 21.
