BOCA RATON, FL — As preparations continue for the Boys in Blue, Boca Raton Football has announced the signing of João Victor Carvalho for the 2018 National Premier Soccer League season.
“João Victor is a very versatile defensive back and will help us as we navigate the though waters of the NPSL Sunshine Conference this upcoming season,” said head coach Jim Rooney. “We have a top-notch defense and adding a player like João Victor is crucial for us.”
The 6’1 center back comes to Boca Raton after participating in the club’s Open Tryouts after spending the 2017 NPSL season with Memphis City FC.
Carvalho comes from Brazil where he played for the Grêmio U18 team, before making his move to the United States.
“Boca Raton FC has a strong name all over the United States and many people I spoke with talked very well about the club and the club has not disappointed,” said Carvalho. “The professionalism of the club is bar none and the coaching staff is probably the best in the NPSL.”
The 21-year-old has already played a match for the club’s American Premier Soccer League team and played all 90 minutes in the 1-0 loss to FC Kendall.
“Carvalho played a fantastic game versus FC Kendall,” added Rooney. “His in-game awareness is up there with the best of them and he has played very well in the preseason for us.”
Single game tickets, as well as season ticket packages for Boca Raton FC’s 2018 NPSL Season at Atlantic High School, are available now. Single game tickets start as low as $10, and season tickets start at $40.
