BOCA RATON, FL — Boca Raton Football Club continues to add to its 2018 National Premier Soccer League roster with the signing of forward Alex Norton for the 2018 season.

Another product of Boca Raton FC’s open tryout, Norton comes to the club after playing 2 years with the Ohio State University Club team, while training with the varsity team, as well as a year with AFC Cleveland.

“Alex has played in this level before and know what it takes to win,” said president Douglas Heizer. “We are very excited to have been able to add a player of his pedigree for the 2018 season.”

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to join Boca Raton FC and I’m excited to compete for more titles in the blue and white,” said Norton. “I’ve felt right at home since I started training with the club and I’ve been given the freedom to play my style as it fits right in with the team’s system.”

The 23-year-old, Cleveland native has impressed the coaching staff so far this preseason and will look to be a big contributor when the NPSL seasons starts.

“Alex is a proven scorer and we are excited for what the season will hold,” added head coach Jim Rooney. “Our team is rounding out nicely and the addition of Norton is a very positive one as we prepare for our home opener versus Miami United on May 5th.”

“Coach Rooney has been in our position as players and knows what it takes to push us to the next level,” added Norton. “To have such a professional coach preach positivity has really made a difference in training as we look to build team chemistry and learn to trust one another on the field.”
