BOCA RATON, FL — Boca Raton Football Club is thrilled to announce that the club will field a team for the Florida Gold Coast League this Fall.

The Florida Gold Coast League (FGCL) is the longest running premier adult men’s soccer league in South Florida. It has been in operation, without interruptions, since 1973 and in recent years the league fully integrated with the Soccer Development League establishing a league that attracts younger players who by participating in their competitions are able to move quickly to collegiate, semi-pro and professional levels of play.

The FGCL is fully affiliated with the Florida State Soccer Association (FSSA), United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and US Soccer, and has formed working partnerships with other local leagues such as CASA and APSL.

Because of their affiliation with USASA, and US Soccer, FGCL teams are eligible to compete in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

“We are excited to return to the Florida Gold Coast League for the fall season,” said club president Douglas Heizer. “The Gold Coast League is a respected league in South Florida and will help us is growing our younger players as they get ready for the upcoming APSL and NPSL seasons in 2019.”

“Their affiliation with FSSA and USASA were a huge factor in our return to the league, as we look for competitive leagues that will not only give us competition but protection to our players,” continued Heizer.

Boca Raton FC will kick off their 2018 Fall Season on September 23 as they take on Himmarshee Football Club at Cypress Park at 3 PM.
