Dear Boca Raton FC Family,
On Wednesday evening Boca Raton FC was informed by the National Premier Soccer League’s board of directors that the board voted unanimously to cancel the 2020 season due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While this is very hard news to swallow, we respect and understand the decision of the board when it comes to the cancelation of the NPSL summer season.
Nevertheless, at Boca Raton FC, we are blessed to not be part of just one league, but numerous leagues. Thus, we will return to the field in 2020 as soon as it’s deemed safe for our players, our staff, our supporters, and our community.
We held calls with our players and staff and the resounding and positive response indicated we are ready to play as soon as we can.
However, we need at least 30 days before our first game to have everything ready.
Players are currently not training as a group, which will have an impact on their performance on the field. But more than that, as an organization we will need time to print tickets, promote games, advertise, organize our volunteers, organize the gameday staff and have sponsors ready for the 2020 season.
Realistically, we foresee that we will be ready to play by the middle of June, or early July should the COVID-19 situation improve quicker than expected.
Consequently, this is the time of year where Boca Raton FC is not only getting ready for the season on the field, but we also start getting ready with sponsors, and staff to make the season the best, most professional in the State.
Unfortunately, this will not be the case this year as we had to suspend all activities for an uncertain time.
With most of the country working from home and having activities suspended, not many people are looking to become sponsors at this time. In fact, some of our sponsors have already opted to not return due to being closed and not being sure when they will return.
With all these factors, it will be difficult to keep the same high-level intensity as previous seasons. Which is why we need your help to keep bringing our community together around The Beautiful Game.
