BOCA RATON, FL — The 2019 UPSL South Florida Champions, Boca Raton FC are traveling north to take on the Central Florida Champions, Tropics Soccer Club at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex on Saturday, July 6 at 7 pm.
After defeating Hialeah City FC in penalties last Sunday, your Boys In Blue are back and looking to get the win in regulation this time.
“They [Tropics] are a very good team, we’ve watched the tape and see they move the ball well and they are a very good side,” said goalkeeper Michael Stone. “We have a lot of confidence in ourselves, and we know that if we play well and do what we are supposed to do we can hand them their first loss of the season.”
Boasting a .344 goals against average the last three matches for Boca Raton FC, Stone has been magnificent between the posts lately and has been instrumental in bringing Boca Raton FC to the UPSL State Championship.
“He [Stone] has been ridiculously important for our club,” added Filip Guhr. “He’s made a lot of clutch saves, in big-time pressure moments and he has handled it perfectly well, we have to take his energy.”
Stone will have his work cut out for him as the Tropics have an attacking prowess of 37 goals scored during the UPSL regular season.
Another big part of the Boys in Blue is the attacking side which was the best in UPSL South Florida and has scored 19 goals between the trio of Maher Soua (9), Ryan Price (8), and Chad Johnson (2).
“We are a very strong team,” said Soua. “We all work together and have a bond that we understand what we are playing for. My teammates have been doing the difficult part of giving me the ball, and I do the best I can to score them.”
