Boca Raton, FL – The local flair to Boca Raton Football continues with the signing of former Boca Raton High School star, Colby Burdette.

A State Champion with the Boca Raton High School Bobcats, Burdette comes to Boca Raton FC from PDL-side Floridans FC where he spent the last three years.

“I’ve had the pleasure of coaching Colby for over six years,” says head coach Marcelo Castillo. “He’s a natural scorer with a nose for the goal.”

The 2010 Florida High School Player of the Year holds the record at Boca High for most goals and points in a season and saw his numbers rise drastically every year.

As a freshmen, Burdette scored 21 goals and had seven assists, 24 goals and 10 assists as a sophomore, 25 goals and nine assists as a junior, and 46 goals, 19 assists during his senior year.

“I played in Boca Raton my whole life,” says the 22-year old forward. “Representing this city is a huge honor and I look forward to the opportunity.”

“He [Burdette] was voted the 2010 Florida High School Player of the Year for a reason, he has that x-factor that can change the game,” added Castillo. “It could be with his deadly run, or with his scoring. We will count on him to score many goals for us this season.”

“Everyone on the coaching staff is top-notch,” added the Florida International University standout. “I’ve played under some of the coaching staff in the past and I know exactly what they expect from each of us. The team has great chemistry and I have high hopes for this upcoming season.”
